La Mancha Karting Club

Our history:
La Mancha Karting Club started at the beginning of 2011 born as concept of Ana Pozuelo and Jose Burillo, two kart racers who enjoy karting and wanted others to share in their passion. They decided to create a Championship for all the people who were in the same situation. The premise of the club is to provide racing with equality, affordable competition, partnership, safety and variety.

The championship started with a group of 15 drivers, and race after race, that group got bigger and bigger until today, La Mancha boasts more than 160 drivers who have competed with us, always carrying a good feeling after the races. We keep promoting karting as a foundation for motorsports, and we direct all our efforts to this objective. For this reason, in every race we do, we raffle motorsport equipment to all the contestants. As of today, we have given away more than 20 suits, 15 helmets, 20 pair of gloves and boots.

Also, we work with young drivers providing a racing school to develop the driving talent of the young driver, starting with the core values of racing and improving step by step.

We work within our local community by giving back and supporting food recycling campaigns for the disadvantaged groups and collecting money for organizations that help our society including animal rescue societies.

After two years since our foundation, we have decided to look for new challenges for Spanish drivers. The option was clear: to be one of the national qualifiers for the Kart World Championship, the worldwide event for 4-stroke drivers around the globe. We contacted the KWC Team and they were thrilled to give us the chance to support the World Championship by adding our series. The winners of our races will represent our country at the RaceHall of Aarhus in Denmark, and they will do their best to and have a goal of attaining the highest place of the podium.

The Spanish Qualifiers will be a 2 meeting series that will take place in Karting Correcaminos (14 April) and Karting Club Los Santos (21 April).

Every meeting will have the following format:

-8 minutes for the qualifying, in which every driver will record the best time possible.
-A 25 minutes race, following the order of the qualifying times, with a rolling start. The final result will score points to the drivers.
The driver who has the most cumulative points after the second meeting, will win their rightful place in the Kart World Championship.

There are 4 different categories with 4 different winners: Junior (13-17 years), Ultralightweigtht (-75 kgs), Lightweight (+75 kgs) and Heavyweight (+90 kgs). The minimum number of drivers per category is 20, except the Junior, that is 15; and the maximum is 26 drivers per category.

The day of the last meeting, La Mancha Karting Club will give the prize to the winners that include the free entry fee for the KWC.

The battle has already started. That is the chance to prove yourself that you are ready for being the World Champion…
