Speed Secret: Controlling Traction
Racing NewsOK, so F1 cars are a bit more sophisticated than karts, but there’s still something to be learned about going faster here in this article. Red Bull has developed a way to control wheel spin in a legal way. This allows the driver to get on the power earlier with a greater rate of acceleration.

In a kart, traction control is modulated by your right foot and your ability to sense slip. Getting on the gas too late sacrifices speed, but too early and the tires will spin, likely inducing over steer and slowing you down. Try to find the optimal point to put your right foot down; do it in a quick, but smooth way. This will give less of a jolt to the rear tires, helping them maintain traction.
