Racing NewsF1 Boston Endurance Series 3-Hour Championship Round in the Books

Braintree, Mass. (September 20, 2011) – F1 Boston’s Summer Endurance Race Series Championship round took place last weekend at the world-class F1 Outdoors complex, with Team Foxy taking the title. A field of 13 teams took to the track for the Championship Round – the top qualifiers from each of the Series’ four rounds were eligible for the 3-hour event. Team Foxy Captain Mike Medici and teammates Viken Mardirossian and Steve Hathaway grabbed their invitation in Round Three.

Starting from the Pole Position, Foxy earned the title by completing 194 laps – the only team to turn in that many – with an average speed of 48.12 mph. In a shoot-out for second place the Karting Overload team of Richard Hemingway and Robert Johnson prevailed, logging 193 laps with an average speed of 48.095. Third place went to Team Stig’s Jacob Scott and Nicholas Liddell, who also booked 193 laps finishing just behind Karting Overload. Karting Overload earned a trip to the Championship with a third place in round 1, and Team Stig punched their ticket to the finale in Round 2.

Rounding out the top six spots were Greater Boston Racing’s John Cope, Greg Cusato, and John Hintze (4th / 192 laps), the B-Line Racing team of Robert Bane, Nicholas Leung and Sean Neal (5th / 191 laps) and Karts of Thunder’s Jose Pimental, Jan Velez and Erik Askin (6th / 191 laps).
